| | Previous versions worked wonderfully, but for "commercial reasons", the latest V6 release has removed the ability for users to download movie info from various sources like IMDB and instead restricts users to using the proprietary and woefully inadequate Collectorz database. To add insult to injury,the company also expects paying users to help fill the database for them after having deprived them of access to information sources that could automatically fill in the data.
This use to be a great product to reduce the work of creating a database of your movies. Now it is just another database program with very little to lift it above freeware offerings or creating your own.
Also, by restricting access to a single data source that they control. Collectorz may be positioning itself to charge a monthly access fee to the data. |

| | I originaly didn't notice a difference in speed until I shut the Ultra Accelerator off. I noticed my download ETA drop from hours to days. I also have found the accelerator to work best if you limit your downloads to one or two files at a time and choose the ones with the fastest and best connection. |

| | ABSOLUTE CRAP. The software didn't work. I couldn't get through to tech support (they were closed that day but didn't bother to change their phone message about someone being with me shortly so I kept calling). I called the sales line and told them I was unsatisfied with the product and wanted a refund. "Michael" immediately became rude (I was nothing but courteous) and when I asked him why he was being rude, the man HUNG UP ON ME. The next week I called tech support and told them I wanted a refund. They couldn't/wouldn't help me with that until they tried to troubleshoot the problem. I'm not home when their tech support is open. I told them that was not a satisfactory answer and that I wanted a supervisor. I was told one wasn't available. I asked for a phone number to the main office. The guy told me he didn't know it and wasn't even sure where the main office was. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Rotten software, rotten company, rotten people, rotten policies. |

| | I have been using this software for almost a year and am very satisfied with it's editing capabilities.
I have one major problem with the software - if the program is left to record unattended, it has a habit of intermittently adjusting the record volume up and down and either overloading or muting the recording. This has happened for anywhere from seconds to hours at a time.
Quite a while ago, I emailed this problem to the developer but have not received a response. I have kept checking to see if there are any updates to the program but so far there is none. The version I am running is ver. 2.93.
Otherwise, the program works fine. |
